BLUF
No MCMAP-style program. Hand-to-hand is taught as defensive tactics inside maritime law enforcement training:
- Boarding Team Member College (two weeks): defensive tactics and use of force.
- Boarding Officer Practical Course: defensive tactics and judgmental use-of-force evaluation. (FORCECOM)
- Advanced Tactical Operations Course: close-quarters combat and shipboard tactics. (FORCECOM)
That makes sense. A boarding team’s fight is a law-enforcement fight first: control, cuffs, and accountability for every use of force.
